It’s another priority for you if you want to touch the Russian art. In three hours you will get a general idea about the Russian artistic heritage. The museum houses approx. 400 000 exhibits and covers the history of the Russian art from the 12th century icons to the 20th century avant-garde.
The museum was solemnly opened in 1898 in the Michael’s Palace. Although the building was remodeled for the museum needs it still displays a few original interiors, including the Main Staircase and White Drawing Room.
